SOCRATES | Wisdom At 22

SOCRATES | Wisdom At 22

Opinion...the word which has been cheapened to the point of unrecognition...one could even go so far as to say the directions from which the sun rises and sets are a matter of opinion, as really - does it not depend on the perspective from which you stand (and who would dare outright call another's perspective wrong)?

Dreadful, the word wrong along with its brethren and bedmates - incorrect, false. Such words are vile condemnations, uttered by those who believe they know better than they do. They are curses cast upon those who dare question the status quo or supposed experts, they are iron masks forced upon contorted faces to achieve trembling silence.

To condemn a person is to kill them.

To slander a person is to kill their reputation.

To curse a person is to kill their happiness

To label a man wrong is to kill their ego.

‎

The soul and ego are brethren and bedmates. At night they exchange cups of pride to consummate their union.

How damned are we, that to kill our egos is to kill our souls?
